On the other hand, it also illustrates a different kind of union: that of refusal, organizing itself in resistance to the necessary transformations required for a more sustainable society to emerge. Between active hope and defensive withdrawal, two paths take shape. The mirror finish of the structure reflects our own image back to us, confronting us with our place in this choice. It is up to us alone to decide which side we stand on, and which story we wish to write: that of preserving life, or that of its programmed disappearance.
