The figure of the spider’s web serves here as a metaphor for the extensive and interconnected networks of influence exercised by multinational corporations and their lobbying bodies. Invisible at first glance yet omnipresent, these systems of influence operate diffusely, allowing their mechanisms to activate in the background and gradually infiltrate social, economic, and political structures.
This socio-political dimension highlights the scale of the strategies of manipulation and disinformation deployed by these actors. Often concealed behind technocratic, normative, or ostensibly benevolent discourses, these influences contribute to the erosion of democratic processes and environmental protection frameworks. The work thus questions contemporary power relations driven by private gain, and the consequences of these dynamics for the collective interest and the common good.
